Body cleanse, body cleanses, body cleansing, natural body cleanse, body cleanse detox, organic body cleanse
A few years ago, I had never even heard of a body cleanse and if you had asked me, I probably would have assumed you were using a fancy term for a shower.
Today, body cleansing has become main stream. Even Oprah has jumped on the bandwagon with her much publicized 21-Day Cleanse.
If you have never done body cleanses before, you may be wondering what exactly it entails and why you would want to do one.
I am firm believer in avoiding modern medicine when you can. Neither of my children, (almost 4 and almost 5) has ever been on an antibiotic. No, I don’t let them suffer. They just have never needed it because there are so many other natural options out there.
(Before you ask, NO, my family will NOT be getting a swine flu vaccine. Don’t get me started – that is a whole other post itself…)
A natural body cleanse is important to your overall health because everyone’s body accumulates toxins over time. These toxins can lead to a number of diseases including cancer, coronary artery disease, liver dysfunction, high blood pressure, skin conditions, hormone imbalance, vitamin B12 deficiency….I could go on but you get the idea.
These toxins eat away at our immune system. They steal the nutrients that our bodies so badly need. In our busy world, too often we don’t take care of ourselves. That is one reason we get sick!
An organic body cleanse can help us rid our bodies of the impurities in our bodies that feed of our nutrients. There are two types of toxins you are trying to get rid of: environmental toxins and metabolic toxins. Environment toxins come from things like chemicals in our skincare, pesticides in food, and pollutants in the air. Metabolic toxins are made inside you body and are the by product of your everyday metabolic process.
Now, you will never be completely toxin free. But the truth is that the only time toxins are an issue is when they accumulate to the point they interfere with cellular functions.
This state is called toxicosis and it is what you want to avoid!
There are many types of body cleanses you might want to consider. They include the following:
Whole Body Cleanse
Colon Cleanse
Parasite Cleanse
Liver Cleanse
If you are new to cleansing and don’t know where to start, a whole body cleanse can be a good idea. Many experts suggest that beginning with a colon cleanse is a good idea. It makes sense – if your system is clogged up with impacted fecal matter, it can be difficult for anything else to absorb.
Wherever you start, you should keep realistic expectations. The toxins in your body didn’t get there overnight, and you can’t expect to feel better immediately.
