Cleansing with Sea Salt

by Claire Addison

Before you begin your detox cleanse you need to first prepare your mind. Keeping a health journal is a good way to get started. Write about why you want to detoxify your body, what your other fitness goals are, and some of the things you would do if you felt better. Give yourself a few days to think on these points and add to the list. Visualize how you could look, and imagine how good you could feel. The journal can be for your eyes only, so don’t worry about what anyone else might think; just write what comes to mind.

Now, in your journal write a section about how you would feel if you were to fail to live up to your goals. It might be hard to look ahead and think of the negative possibilities, but it will give you the determination you will need to get through your cleanse regimen.

Now you are ready to begin your master cleanse salt water flush. Keep in mind the salt water recipe is not the only feature of a good cleanse routine. A cleanse should be done in alternating conjunction with other methods, such as the tea method, for best effect.

Sea salt water recipe for master cleanse:

Mix 1 tablespoon of salt with approximately 1 liter water.

If you have difficulty drinking the sea salt solution, then mix it with some pure organic lemon juice.

Use unrefined sea salt with no chemical additives. Standard table salt contains iodine, which is counterproductive to a proper detox cleanse. Warm water is best, as it will help the salt dissolve and is easier on the body.

A word of caution: drink lots of water during your recovery periods after each flush. Salt has a dehydrating effect on the body. Discontinue use if you feel unmanageable discomfort and do not hesitate to consult your doctor about your detox regimen.
